Warner Bros. has announced a new release date for Dune part 2

The sequel Dune: Part Two will now not be released until November 2023, since Warner Bros. has officially postponed it.
The publication date of Dune: Part Two has been postponed to November 2023, with production expected to start later this year. The second part of Frank Herbert's epic novel, which revolves on Paul Atreides as he and his aristocratic family go to the harsh desert planet of Arrrakis to take control of it, will be adapted by Denis Villeneuve for the next science fiction movie. Paul and his family are caught up in a conflict over the planet, which is the source of the "spice," the most valuable substance in the galaxy.
The majority of the actors from the first film, including Timothée Chalamet as Paul, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, Dave Bautista, and Zendaya, will be back for Dune: Part 2. Austin Butler, who played Elvis Presley, Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, and Léa Seydoux will all make their franchise debuts in the sequel. Dune: Part Two is scheduled to start filming later this year, yet it appears that some of the movie's plans are shifting.
Though some may find it strange that Warner Bros. moved the release date of Dune: Part Two to compete with the Hunger Games prequel film, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, it's not the first time they've tried to capitalize on the ticket sales during the Thanksgiving holiday. Immediately before the pandemic, the company released Doctor Sleep, The Good Liar, and Motherless Brooklyn all in the same month, although in previous Novembers, films like Creed II and the first two Fantastic Beasts films debuted to strong box office results. Furthermore, given that November is typically seen as the beginning of award seasons, when studios release their Oscar-hopeful films to theaters, it makes sense that WB would choose to move Dune: Part Two back by a month in the hopes of catching up with the the sequel.
